Flat Creek Farms is located on the rolling hills of a 200-acre farm in the Flat Creek Community of Shelbyville, Tennessee, and is owned and operated by Shawn and Mike Hammers. Our operation is led by faith, grounded in integrity, and committed to exceptional customer service.

The Red Angus breed continues to gain momentum through the leadership of the Red Angus Association of America, and we are proud to be dedicated to the continued growth and success of this outstanding breed.

Built on a foundation of passion and commitment, our seedstock program consists of just under 100 Registered Red Angus females. Our cow herd represents a phenotypically and genetically sound group backed by proven maternal genetics from respected programs including Bieber, Leachman, Ludvigson, Bull Hill, Buffalo Creek, Montvue, RA Brown, RReds, Twedt Red Angus, Hansine Ranch, Lacy Red Angus, Duff Cattle Company and Berwald Red Angus

At Flat Creek Farms, our mission is to consistently produce high-maternal Red Angus cattle combining rapid growth, performance, superior carcass merit, structural soundness, and eye appeal.

Our breeding philosophy is straightforward: utilize proven AI sires that add performance and pounds without sacrificing calving ease or maternal strength. We understand that cattle must not only perform but also possess the phenotype our customers are proud to own. We firmly believe phenotype remains an essential ingredient in the long-term success of any cow-calf operation.

Our goal is to produce a uniform, dependable product that meets the needs of commercial cattlemen while offering genetics sought after by progressive purebred programs. We utilize modern DNA testing technologies, including genomic-enhanced EPDs, to improve selection accuracy and accelerate genetic progress within our herd.

Herd health is a top priority and is closely monitored in partnership with the staff at Fayetteville Animal Clinic, PC. Through an intensive hands-on management approach, we maintain a calm, docile herd — a trait we believe reflects proper handling and sound disposition genetics.

For Red Angus juniors and 4-H exhibitors, we also offer halter-broke calves designed to be highly competitive in the show arena.
